COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Last updated: September 2025

At Chanza, we're passionate about fostering genuine connections and meaningful friendships among university students through shared dining experiences. We believe that great conversations and lasting bonds begin when students feel safe, respected, and welcomed in an inclusive environment. Our mission is to create memorable moments where like-minded individuals can connect authentically, both through our platform and during our events.

To maintain this positive atmosphere for everyone, we employ both sophisticated automated monitoring systems and experienced human moderators who review interactions and investigate any reports of inappropriate or harmful behavior.

While we work diligently to maintain oversight, we cannot monitor every interaction. That's why we've established clear behavioral expectations for all participants, whether they're using our platform online or attending our events in person. Following these guidelines helps us build and sustain a thriving, secure community where every student can feel comfortable being themselves.

Please be aware that violations of these guidelines may result in warnings, account limitations, event exclusions, or in serious cases, cooperation with law enforcement authorities. You can report violations or submit appeals by contacting us at edouard@chanza-club.com. We continuously work to enhance our safety protocols by analyzing user feedback and community interactions.

Profile Guidelines

  • Age: You must be at least 18 years old to participate in Chanza events. Misrepresenting your age is prohibited, and we may require identity verification.
  • Profile Photo: Upload a clear, recent, and unfiltered photo of yourself. Avoid excessive filters, symbols, text overlays, or meme images.
  • Name: Use your real legal name only. We may request identity verification.
  • Email: You must confirm your email address during registration.
  • Phone: Provide a valid phone number for event communication.
  • University Status: You must be a current student or alumni of the university for which you're registering for events.

Conduct & Content Guidelines

Nudity and Sexual Activity: Explicit, vulgar, or sexual content is strictly prohibited. This includes selling, advertising, or soliciting sexual content or services.

Example: A participant shares explicit images during a dinner event, makes inappropriate sexual comments, or attempts to sell adult services to other attendees. Such behavior disrupts the respectful and comfortable atmosphere we strive to create.

Bullying & Abuse: Harassment, bullying, or targeting individuals with insults, intimidation, or emotional abuse is strictly forbidden.

Example: A participant repeatedly insults and belittles another student based on their appearance, academic performance, or personal choices, using intimidation tactics or emotional manipulation. This behavior undermines the welcoming environment of our events.

Child Exploitation: Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors, including sharing abusive material, is absolutely banned and will be reported to authorities.

Example: A participant discusses involvement in communities that exploit minors or shares inappropriate content involving individuals under 18. This behavior constitutes a severe breach of our policy and legal standards.

Commercial Activity: Chanza events are not marketplaces. Selling or promoting illegal or regulated goods, engaging in human trafficking, or exploiting crises for profit is forbidden.

Example: A participant uses the dinner event to promote and sell illegal items such as counterfeit goods, unlicensed substances, or weapons. They may also attempt to recruit others into schemes involving human trafficking or exploit current events for fraudulent financial gain.

Controlled Substances: The sale, distribution, or promotion of illegal drugs or misuse of legal substances is not permitted.

Example: Discussing, offering, or distributing illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia at events is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal and law enforcement involvement.

Dangerous Organizations: Associations with or promotion of violent, extremist, or terrorist groups is banned.

Example: A participant promotes or represents a radical organization known for violence or extremist ideologies, creating discomfort and legitimate safety concerns for other attendees.

Hate Speech: We celebrate diversity and inclusion. Hate speech, discrimination, or dehumanization of individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic is not tolerated.

Example: A participant makes derogatory comments about other students' race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs, creating a hostile and unwelcoming environment for others.

Impersonation: Creating fake profiles, impersonating others, or maintaining multiple accounts is prohibited. Each person may have only one active Chanza account.

Example: Using false information to create profiles that mislead other participants about your identity, university affiliation, or intentions is a clear violation of our community standards.

Misinformation: Spreading false information, conspiracy theories, or deliberate misinformation is banned.

Example: Sharing false claims about event venues, safety protocols, or spreading conspiracy theories that create unnecessary fear or confusion among participants.

Violence or Sexual Misconduct: Threatening, promoting, inciting, or engaging in violence or sexual misconduct will not be tolerated. This includes stalking, assault, or any verified history of such behavior.

Example: Threatening physical harm to another participant during or after an event, or having documented history of domestic violence, restraining orders, or sexual misconduct that poses a risk to other community members.

Scams & Fraud: Engaging in deceptive financial activities, investment schemes, or fraudulent behavior is prohibited.

Example: Offering fake investment opportunities, cryptocurrency schemes, or other fraudulent financial services to fellow students during events.

Sexual Harassment: Any unwelcome, non-consensual sexual conduct is strictly prohibited. This includes sending unsolicited sexually explicit images, displaying inappropriate content, threatening to share intimate images without permission, making unwanted sexual remarks, or objectifying individuals.

Example: Sending inappropriate messages or images to other participants after an event, making unwanted sexual comments during dinner, or pressuring someone for personal contact information after they've declined.

Spam: Bulk unwanted content, misleading links, repetitive messaging, or disruptive profiles are prohibited.

Example: Creating multiple accounts to spam other users with promotional content, or sending repetitive unwanted messages to participants from previous events.

Suicide & Self-Harm: Content that glorifies, promotes, or provides instructions for self-harm or eating disorders is banned. Sharing personal mental health experiences is permitted when done thoughtfully and sensitively.

Example: Promoting self-harm as a coping mechanism or sharing graphic details about self-destructive behaviors crosses the line from supportive sharing of personal experiences.

Violent Content: Sharing graphic content involving injury, weapons, or violence is prohibited.

Example: Showing graphic images of injuries, weapons, or violent scenes during events.

Event Attendance Guidelines

  • No-Shows: You must attend your scheduled events or cancel within the designated time frame (48 hours before the event). No-shows for more than two events will result in account suspension or permanent removal.
  • Bringing Guests is Prohibited: Your reservation is exclusively for you. Bringing a guest, friend, or plus-one will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban, even if they are also Chanza users.
  • Single Booking Policy: Users are prohibited from booking tables at the same restaurant through multiple services or platforms for the same time slot to take advantage of promotions or manipulate our matching system.
  • Punctuality: Arrive on time for your reserved dinner. Chronic lateness disrupts the experience for other participants and may result in account restrictions.

Account Management

Inactive Accounts: Accounts that remain inactive for two consecutive years will be automatically deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

Reporting and Safety

Your safety and well-being are our highest priorities. Please report violations of these guidelines, safety concerns, or inappropriate behavior - not simply disagreements or personality conflicts. We utilize both trained human moderators and automated systems to maintain our community standards and investigate reports promptly.

How to Report: Contact us immediately at edouard@chanza-club.com with details of any violations or safety concerns.

Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in various actions depending on the severity and frequency of the offense:

  • Content removal
  • Formal warnings
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Event exclusion
  • Permanent account termination
  • Cooperation with law enforcement (for serious violations)

Chanza reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts without prior notice for any reason, particularly when user safety is at risk. While we strive to be fair and transparent, we do not guarantee appeal processes for all account removals, especially in cases involving serious safety violations.

We are committed to creating a community where every student feels safe, respected, and excited to meet new people. Thank you for helping us maintain this positive environment for everyone.
